This translation of Baudelaire's masterpiece breaks new ground. For the first time, editor and translator John E. Tidball has taken the additional poems from the 1868 posthumous edition of 'Les Fleurs du Mal' and assigned them new positions within the collection as a whole. The original French texts appear on the left-hand page, with the new English verse translations on the facing page. The translations preserve the rhyme scheme, versification and intrinsic sense of each individual poem.
